Article: NASA, environment
Check out what's going on at Elane's Culture of life blog: she's got an article about why NASA is being shafted. The thrust of the argument is that it's in Bush's best interest to effectively kill NASA--space exploration is a threat to creation "science" and upsets Bush's fundie base, and NASA's earth exploration is showing how fucked the environment is. We have seriously ruined it, which will hurt humans in the long run. We've used up 2/3rds of what's needed to sustain life on earth; I'm not talking of fossil fuels, I'm talking about recycling air for heavens sake. We're also putting more and more CO2 into the air. Nobody can pretend that this isn't happening.

That's an interesting way to look at why Bush is so much against Nasa. Well, you and me know that the environment is getting spoiled, that the world is dying out for our activities, but unfortunately not everyone knows that. Espeically the politicians and some scientists/writers like Crighton
'ell, even if there really isn't such a thing as global warming, if it's all a myth like some conservatives say, I still don't want to live in a world that looks like summertime in LA on a "smog day".
