Don't worry your pretty little head about those Jack Abramoff photos
President Bush has come out pretty strong against the release of photos that depict him hanging out with Jack Abramoff. Not because he's embarrassed to be associated with such scum, mind you. No, it's just that the photos are /irrelevant/, and he wants to spare us the boredom of having to look at them. If released, he says, the photos "will be used for pure political purposes, and they're not relevant to the investigation."
It's probably just a few shots of Bush shaking hands with Abramoff at one of the thousands of fundraisers he's attended. No big thing. But I'd like to be able to decide that for myself. One of the surest tip-offs that somebody is lying is when they say "trust me," and that's exactly what Bush is doing. That's exactly what he's doing when he tells us that the NSA's only wiretapping terrorists. We don't need to see that evidence. Don't worry about. Just trust him, and everything will be okay, because he has our best interests at heart.

That's exactly what he's doing when he tells us that the NSA's only wiretapping terrorists. We don't need to see that evidence.
In case you didn't realize, you are not privy to a lot of the intelligence information that is being gathered. I just thought I would point this out... and this whole photo issue is just more nonsense from the liberal Democrats. This is the exact type of thing that turns people off, as is reflected at the polls.
Anyhow, you have a great blog here, even if it is "anti-Bush"
One more thing: although everyone is criticizing the surveillance and obviously trying to get some political mileage out of it, you'll notice that no one is saying that the practice of surveilling calls to foreign numbers associated with terror groups needs to stop.
i am sure the white house press officer was denying that bush ever met him.
Of course it doesn't need to stop. It just needs to be done in a way that follows the law.

See, either we have laws or we don't. We have this thing called the Fourth Amendment. He violated it. That's illegal. He does not have the authority to ignore the Constitution at his own discretion. Also, the excuse he uses that Congress gave him the authority to do the wiretaps is bogus; it is an argument designed for people who don't know anything about the Constitution. Congress can't give him the power to violate the Constitution. I didn't see the amendment where the Fourth Amendment was repealed.
Finally, that clown is a complete liar. I do not believe for one second that he is conducting warrantless wiretaps on people who only communicate with suspected foreign terrorists and terrorist organizations. In addition, read Congressman Rush Holt's letter to General Alexander about the domestic surveillance. Alexander lied to Congress about the program. If the program was legitimate, why would you lie to someone on the House Intelligence Committee, who is rated to view classified info up the ying-yang, about the program? This administration is chock-a-block with liars and thieves.
We had a Civil War and two World Wars and millions of Americans were killed in them and yet those president were still held accountable for his actions. Those presidents had a few instances where they went off the reservation, but none of them went as far as this clown even though the terrorist threat is infinitesimal compared to the threats from Hitler, secession, etc.
Conservatives are such a bunch of whimps. Two World Wars (thank goodness we had liberal Democrats in the White House prosecuting those wars or we would never have won) and we didn't have to shred the Constitution. One successful terrorist attack and whimpy conservatives across the coutnry want Bush to be their daddy and protect them from the bad mean terrorists.
