Did Jesus exist?
You think that America is crazy? I tell you, the ability to read Italian opens up a whole new world of insanity that you didn't think possible.
But don't worry, you won't have to deal with my crap-assed translations, because this story is in English: the Italian courts will soon be deciding whether or not Jesus existed. Luigi Cascioli is suing a priest because he violated two Italian laws by wrongfully claiming that Jesus exists. Cascioli has written a book that attempts to prove that the Catholic church invented Jesus.
This kind of thing has happened before, but what's really weird is why Cascioli chose this particular priest. Enrico Righi isn't famous or exceptionally outspoken. It's like he was chosen at random.

This is stupid. How does Luigi explain that there is no reference from anywhere for a John of Gamala? He claims that this was the real person that the "forgers" used to create the fake Jesus. Who is he? According to Wikipedia, the only reference to him is from a 19th century book for boys called "For The Temple." It was written in 1888 by GA Henty, an English storyteller. How did the apostles get Jesus mixed up with someone that never existed? A think Luigi has a screw loose. At least one.
