As long as it takes
When asked how much longer we are going to be in Iraq, President Bush invariably replies something along the lines of As long as it takes.
Or, until 2006. Whichever is closer.
According to a new leaked memo, the US and Britain are planning on reducing troop numbers by more than half by mid-2006. (A really cynical person would add that this is just in time for the upcoming congressional races.) The people involved add many caveats but guys, we have our timetable.
Addeneum: By the way, who is it that keeps leaking all of these memos?

It would be good to have American troops return home. Too bad it may help Bush and his entourage of thieves.

Indeed, indeed. The 2006 races are going to be very interesting.
I just hope that when people are celebrating the end of this war, they do not forget who started the war.
