To outlaw ugly artwork

Los Angeles is cracking down on graffiti-style murals. I don't mean street tags, I mean murals done in the graffiti style that have been commissioned by business owners. The city is having the walls whitewashed, then repainted by different artists.

At best, this is really, really anal.
